Consultant Family Medicine

About the role

We are looking for experienced Consultant Family Medicine physicians to deliver comprehensive primary care across Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Sharjah. The role focuses on preventive health, chronic disease management and continuity of care within reputable UAE healthcare facilities.

Key responsibilities

• Provide primary and family medical care to patients of all ages.
• Conduct consultations, assessments, diagnoses and develop treatment plans.
• Manage acute and chronic conditions following evidence‑based guidelines.
• Deliver preventive health services, screenings and patient education.
• Monitor chronic diseases such as diabetes, hypertension, cardiovascular and respiratory disorders.
• Perform routine health assessments and appropriate clinical procedures.
• Refer patients to specialists and coordinate multidisciplinary care.
• Maintain accurate, confidential medical records and ensure follow‑up continuity.
• Promote healthy lifestyles and disease‑prevention strategies.
• Participate in multidisciplinary meetings, clinical audits and quality‑improvement initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with UAE healthcare regulations and patient‑safety protocols.
• Support and mentor junior physicians and other healthcare staff as needed.

Required profile

• Medical degree (MBBS/MD or equivalent) with a recognized postgraduate qualification in Family Medicine.
• Valid eligibility for Consultant Family Medicine classification under UAE licensing authorities.
• Relevant post‑specialization and consultant‑level clinical experience.
• Strong knowledge of preventive medicine, chronic disease management and primary healthcare.
• Excellent diagnostic, communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
• DHA, DOH or SHA license (or eligibility) preferred, depending on location.
