Consultant Gastroenterologist

About the role

NMC Healthcare is seeking an experienced and qualified Consultant Gastroenterologist to provide high-quality, professional, and ethical clinical services. The role involves diagnosing and managing gastrointestinal and liver disorders, delivering comprehensive patient care, ensuring compliance with clinical governance and quality standards, and contributing to continuous quality improvement and professional development.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose, evaluate, and manage patients with gastrointestinal, hepatobiliary, and liver disorders.
• Perform diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures, including gastroscopy and colonoscopy.
• Manage complex gastroenterology cases and coordinate care with other medical specialties.
• Ensure patient safety, confidentiality, and adherence to clinical guidelines and hospital policies.
• Monitor clinical outcomes, identify risks, and contribute to quality improvement initiatives.
• Maintain accurate medical records and communicate effectively with patients and families.

Required profile

• Qualified and licensed medical practitioner.
• Minimum 3–5 years of post‑qualification experience at Consultant level.
• Minimum 1 year of Consultant‑level experience in a Tier 1 country as defined by UAE regulators.
• Basic medical degree and recognized higher education programme (Fellowship/Diploma) accepted by UAE authority.
• Specialty certification and registration in Gastroenterology recognized by UAE authority.
• Active and valid life support certification (BLS, ACLS, etc.).
• Demonstrated experience in managing complex gastroenterology cases and performing endoscopic procedures.
