Consultant ICU / Critical Care Medicine Specialist

About the role

We are seeking a highly experienced Consultant in Intensive Care Medicine to join a leading hospital in the United Arab Emirates. The role involves delivering advanced, evidence‑based critical care to adult patients with complex medical, surgical and trauma conditions within a multidisciplinary ICU environment.

Key responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive critical care management for critically ill patients in the ICU.
• Manage complex medical, surgical, trauma and post‑operative cases, including respiratory failure, sepsis, shock and multi‑organ dysfunction.
• Perform and supervise advanced critical care procedures and life‑support interventions.
• Develop individualized treatment plans based on clinical assessment and evidence‑based guidelines.
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists and other specialists to optimise patient outcomes.
• Participate in clinical governance, audits and quality‑improvement initiatives.
• Support medical education, training and departmental development.

Required profile

• Board certification in Intensive Care Medicine or equivalent (ABMS, Canadian Royal College, UK CCT/CCST, etc.).
• 3–5 years of post‑specialisation experience in ICU/critical care.
• Eligibility for consultant‑level licensing with DHA, DOH or MOHAP.
• Strong clinical decision‑making, leadership and multidisciplinary teamwork abilities.
