Consultant Internal Medicine Nocturnist

About the role

Stafmed is recruiting an experienced Consultant Internal Medicine Nocturnist for a full-time position with a leading hospital in the UAE. The role provides comprehensive medical care for adult inpatients during overnight shifts, covering acute medical conditions, clinical emergencies and inpatient coordination at night.

Key responsibilities

• Provide medical assessment, diagnosis and treatment for adult inpatients during overnight shifts
• Manage acute and complex internal medicine cases, including patients with multiple comorbidities
• Respond promptly to medical emergencies and clinical deterioration, and assess and stabilise patients needing urgent intervention
• Coordinate with emergency medicine, intensive care, nursing and other clinical teams when needed
• Review laboratory results, imaging and other investigations to guide treatment
• Develop and implement evidence-based treatment plans
• Ensure effective handover and continuity of care between day and night teams
• Maintain accurate medical records and follow hospital policies and clinical guidelines
• Take part in patient safety initiatives, clinical audits and quality improvement activities

Required profile

• Board certification or a recognised specialist qualification in Internal Medicine
• Recognised Tier 1 qualification such as ABMS, Canadian Royal College certification, UK CCT/CCST, or an equivalent, where applicable
• Minimum 3-5 years of post-specialisation experience in Internal Medicine
• Proven experience managing acute medical admissions, inpatient care and clinical emergencies
• Eligibility for Consultant-level licensing with DHA, DOH or MOHAP, as applicable
• Willingness and availability to work overnight shifts
