Consultant Neonatologist

About the role

We are seeking a qualified and experienced Neonatologist to provide specialized medical care to newborn infants, particularly premature babies and those with critical medical conditions. The role involves diagnosing, treating, and managing high‑risk newborns within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.

Key responsibilities

• Provide specialized medical care for premature, low‑birth‑weight, and critically ill newborns.
• Assess, diagnose, and manage neonatal conditions such as respiratory distress, infections, and congenital abnormalities.
• Manage and monitor newborns admitted to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and perform neonatal resuscitation.
• Develop individualized treatment plans and monitor vital signs, growth, and response to therapy.
• Collaborate with obstetricians, pediatricians, nurses, and other professionals to ensure coordinated care.
• Counsel parents and families regarding medical conditions, treatment options, and prognosis.
• Maintain accurate medical records and participate in clinical audits and continuous education.

Required profile

• Medical degree (MBBS or equivalent) and postgraduate qualification or specialist training in Neonatology.
• Valid professional license or eligibility for licensing with the UAE health authority (DHA, DOH, or MOHAP).
• Relevant clinical experience in neonatology and NICU management.
• Strong knowledge of neonatal resuscitation, intensive care, and evidence‑based practices.
• Excellent communication, clinical decision‑making, and interpersonal skills.
