Consultant Pediatric Hematologist / Oncologist

About the role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Consultant Pediatric Hematologist/Oncologist to join a leading healthcare organization in Abu Dhabi. The role involves diagnosing, treating, and managing children and adolescents with hematologic disorders and pediatric cancers.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose and manage a broad range of pediatric hematologic and oncologic conditions, including leukemia, lymphoma, solid tumors, anemia, clotting disorders, and other blood diseases.
• Develop individualized treatment plans based on patient condition, clinical protocols, and evidence‑based practices.
• Administer and oversee chemotherapy, immunotherapy, transfusion therapy, and supportive care treatments.
• Coordinate care with multidisciplinary teams including pediatricians, surgeons, radiologists, pathologists, pharmacists, nurses, and allied healthcare professionals.
• Monitor patient progress, treatment response, and potential complications while adjusting management plans as required.
• Provide compassionate counseling, education, and emotional support to patients and families throughout diagnosis, treatment, and follow‑up care.
• Participate in tumor boards, departmental meetings, clinical audits, and quality improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Medical Degree (MBBS/MD or equivalent) from a recognized institution.
• Specialty training in Pediatric Hematology/Oncology and one of the recognized qualifications (UK CCT, US or Canadian Board Certification).
• DOH Abu Dhabi License or eligibility.
• Minimum 5 years post‑board experience in Pediatric Hematology/Oncology.
• Fluency in English (Arabic is an advantage) and strong communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
