Consultant Pediatric Rheumatologist – Abu Dhabi

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Consultant Pediatric Rheumatologist to join a leading healthcare facility in Abu Dhabi. The role focuses on providing specialist care for children and adolescents with rheumatologic, autoimmune, inflammatory and musculoskeletal disorders.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose and manage paediatric patients with rheumatologic and autoimmune conditions.
• Evaluate children presenting with inflammatory joint, muscle, bone and connective‑tissue disorders.
• Manage conditions such as juvenile idiopathic arthritis, juvenile lupus, vasculitis and other paediatric rheumatologic diseases.
• Develop individualized treatment plans, prescribe pharmacological and biologic therapies, and monitor disease progression.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary care with paediatricians, immunologists, orthopaedists, physiotherapists and other specialists.
• Provide counselling and education to patients and families regarding diagnosis, treatment and long‑term management.
• Participate in case discussions, clinical meetings, audits and quality‑improvement programmes.
• Maintain accurate medical records and ensure compliance with UAE healthcare regulations.

Required profile

• Medical degree (MBBS/MD) from a recognised institution.
• Post‑graduate qualification in Paediatrics with fellowship or subspecialty training in Paediatric Rheumatology.
• Relevant clinical experience as required under UAE PQR guidelines.
• Valid professional licence or eligibility to obtain DOH licensing in Abu Dhabi.
• Proven experience managing paediatric rheumatologic and autoimmune conditions.
• Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic and decision‑making abilities.
• Excellent communication skills, especially with children and families.
• Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
