Consultant / Specialist Medical Oncologist - Dubai

About the role

A leading tertiary-care hospital in Dubai is expanding its oncology services and is looking for a qualified Medical Oncologist to join its multidisciplinary cancer care team. The role covers outpatient clinics, inpatient consultations and systemic therapy management, working alongside surgical oncologists, radiation oncologists, pathologists, radiologists and supportive care specialists. Candidates need at least 3 years of experience after specialist or board certification.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose and manage patients with solid tumors and selected hematologic cancers
• Develop treatment plans using chemotherapy, immunotherapy, targeted therapy and hormonal therapy
• Administer and monitor systemic cancer treatments and assess treatment response
• Take part in tumor board meetings and multidisciplinary case discussions
• Manage treatment-related toxicities and complications
• Counsel patients and families on diagnosis, treatment options, prognosis and supportive care
• Coordinate referrals to surgery, radiation therapy, palliative care and other services
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and take part in audits, research and quality improvement

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years post-specialist or board certification
• Recognised oncology specialist qualification, such as ABIM Medical Oncology, UK CCT / MRCP / FRCP, European Board, Royal College (Canada), FRACP, Arab Board, or DM/DNB/MD/FCPS Medical Oncology
• Eligibility for DOH / DHA / MOH licensing; licensing guidance and support is offered
