Consultant Urologist

About the role

Healthpoint, a multi-specialty hospital in Abu Dhabi serving patients from the UAE and around the world, is seeking an experienced Consultant Urologist. The consultant will provide diagnostic, medical and surgical care for a broad range of urological conditions across outpatient, inpatient and surgical settings, while helping develop the Urology services. The department covers prostate and urinary tract conditions, stone disease, female and neuro-urology, male urology and urological oncology.

Key responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose, treat and manage patients with urological conditions, including kidney, ureter, bladder, prostate, urethra and male reproductive system conditions.
• Manage routine and complex cases in outpatient, inpatient and surgical settings.
• Perform diagnostic, endoscopic, minimally invasive and surgical procedures within granted clinical privileges.
• Develop individualised treatment plans based on clinical guidelines and evidence-based practice.
• Work with multidisciplinary teams, counsel patients and families, and maintain accurate clinical records.
• Take part in clinical governance, quality improvement, audit and departmental initiatives.
• Support the supervision and education of junior physicians and colleagues, and keep up to date through continuing professional development.

Required profile

• MBBS, MBChB or equivalent medical qualification from a recognised institution.
• Recognised specialist training in Urology and a specialty qualification at Consultant level under UAE requirements.
• UAE medical licence at Consultant level with the relevant licensing authority.
• Demonstrated independent consultant-level practice and strong experience in general and complex urology.
• Experience in minimally invasive and endoscopic techniques is highly desirable.
