Cost Accountant – SAP & Manufacturing Expertise

About the role

Spinneys, the UAE’s leading premium retailer, is looking for a detail‑oriented Cost Accountant to join its finance team in Dubai. The role focuses on monitoring production costs, inventory movements and material variances to support accurate costing and operational decision‑making.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and analyse standard and actual costing, producing material, labour and overhead variance reports.
• Monitor stock movements, reconcile physical inventory with SAP records and investigate wastage, shrinkage and yield variances.
• Perform month‑end and year‑end closing activities for COGS, inventory valuation and work‑in‑progress.
• Conduct periodic physical stock counts and reconcile discrepancies.
• Prepare cost analysis reports for management, highlighting production cost breakdowns, scrap analysis and cost‑saving opportunities.
• Maintain accurate Bills of Materials (BOMs) and routing data in SAP.
• Collaborate with production, warehouse and procurement teams to track raw material consumption and finished‑goods output.
• Support budgeting and forecasting for manufacturing costs and ensure compliance with internal controls and audit requirements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field (CMA or equivalent is a plus).
• 3–5 years of cost accounting experience, preferably in food manufacturing or a similar production environment.
• Hands‑on experience with SAP FI/CO modules.
• Proven track record of inventory tracking, stock reconciliation and analysis of wastage/shrinkage.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving abilities and high attention to detail.
