Cost Controller / Junior Accountant

About the role

Fruitful Day (FFD) is a premium healthy‑food group based in Dubai Investment Park. The Cost Controller / Junior Accountant role blends hands‑on cost control of fruit and ingredient expenses with junior accounting support, providing daily insight into profitability while ensuring accurate bookkeeping.

Key responsibilities

• Track daily/weekly fruit and ingredient cost percentages by SKU and channel; flag deviations immediately.
• Log all direct market purchases in Odoo on the same day and maintain a weekly wastage log linked to cost %.
• Reconcile supplier invoices with purchase orders and delivery notes; investigate variances.
• Support operations with procurement, supplier selection, purchase order accuracy, and pricing input.
• Assist in standard and AVCO costing for new products across all four sub‑brands.
• Prepare weekly cost dashboards for leadership meetings.
• Handle day‑to‑day transactional accounting: AP/AR processing, invoicing, payment reconciliation.
• Support payroll data checks and month‑end close tasks under supervision.
• Track and reconcile OPEX lines against budget and assist with audits.
• Maintain documentation for VAT filing, corporate tax, and annual audit; escalate discrepancies to the Lead Accountant.

Required profile

• 1–3 years of experience in cost control, F&B/hospitality accounting, or a junior accounting role.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field (or actively pursuing ACCA/CMA).
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work with daily/weekly reporting cadence.

Required skills

• Working knowledge of inventory and cost accounting principles (COGS, standard costing, AVCO costing).
• Proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets.
• Experience with Odoo ERP (strong plus).
