Credit Specialist – Mortgages

About the role

The Credit Specialist – Mortgages will support FAB's Personal Banking Credit division by assessing new mortgage credit requests and extensions. The role involves detailed analysis of client financial documents and ensuring compliance with bank policies and regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities

• Develop credit proposals for mortgage transactions based on client financial information and related documents.
• Evaluate credit data, financial statements and credit history to determine risk and support decision‑making.
• Ensure complete credit documentation and obtain necessary approvals from delegated authorities.
• Manage exception levels, such as insufficient security documents, within defined timelines.
• Prepare and forward timely productivity and exception reports to the reporting manager.
• Maintain compliance with internal audit, external reporting obligations and Central Bank regulations.
• Perform system checks, update the Credit Approval System (CAS) and process applications within agreed timelines.
• Execute EV and CPV assessments where applicable and highlight credit risks and mitigants.
• Adhere to FAB policies, performance goals and professional development plans.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management, Banking or a related discipline.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience, including at least 1 year in a similar credit‑mortgage role.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze financial statements, assess creditworthiness and manage documentation accurately.
