Customs Data Entry Agent

About the role

The Customs Data Entry Agent is responsible for ensuring full compliance with UAE customs regulations and achieving timely clearance of shipments for DHL’s express customers. The role demands high accuracy, speed, and the ability to work across multiple free‑zone locations on a 24/7 shift schedule.

Key responsibilities

• Declare all customs pre‑alerts within the required timeframes.
• Verify and enter correct HS codes, country of origin, piece count, weight, value and currency for each shipment.
• Process entries through Mirsal 2 / B2G and submit line‑item details.
• Update special‑handling shipments with appropriate ACA statuses or bond reasons.
• Escalate shipments needing regulatory approvals to supervisors for inspection endorsement.
• Follow Gateway clearance procedures as defined in the GSOP manual and maintain strict regulatory compliance.
• Maintain accurate records, reports and files in a timely manner.
• Stay current with changes in customs rules, industry trends and relevant gateway applications (DUBAITRADE, DCE, DCC, ACA, CIA, GIA, GDI).

Required profile

• Sound knowledge of the UAE Customs code and practices.
• Proficient use of Microsoft Office tools.
• Graduate degree or equivalent qualification.
• Self‑learner, detail‑oriented and able to work night and day shifts.
