Cyber Security CSOC Specialist

About the role

The Cyber Security CSOC Specialist will monitor and respond to security alerts across the Barakah Nuclear Power Plant computing network. This first‑line analyst role ensures that potential threats are identified, triaged, and escalated appropriately to protect critical digital assets.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor cyber security events from SIEM, IDS/IPS, network monitoring tools, and log files to detect malicious activity.
• Tri­age alerts generated by SIEM systems, providing sufficient context for Tier‑2 analysts.
• Investigate indicators of compromise from internal logs and external advisories.
• Perform initial correlation of events to identify genuine security threats.
• Classify false alerts and collaborate with stakeholders to reduce future noise.
• Document artefacts and create detailed security incident tickets for Tier‑2 escalation.
• Periodically verify that critical digital assets and plant operation networks are properly logged and monitored.

Required profile

Required skills

• Experience with Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) platforms
• Knowledge of Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS) and Intrusion Prevention Systems (IPS)
• Log analysis and network monitoring proficiency
• Indicator of compromise (IOC) investigation
• Familiarity with security incident ticketing and SLA adherence
