Cybersecurity Specialist

About the role

The organization is seeking a Cybersecurity Specialist to design, implement and maintain security controls across network, endpoint, cloud and application environments. The role involves active participation in the Security Operations Center, incident response and compliance initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Implement and maintain firewalls, IDS/IPS, EDR, WAF, email/web gateways and PAM solutions.
• Operate and tune SIEM/SOC tooling, triage alerts and lead incident response and forensic investigations.
• Conduct vulnerability assessments, coordinate remediation and support penetration testing and audit closure.
• Ensure compliance with UAE NESA/SIA, Dubai ISR, PDPL, ISO 27001, NIST CSF and related frameworks.
• Manage identity and access governance, including least‑privilege and privileged account controls.
• Maintain security architecture documentation, policies, standards and baseline hardening configurations.
• Support secure system onboarding, change reviews and third‑party security assessments.
• Deliver security awareness training and phishing simulations, and produce risk registers and management reports.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Cyber Security, Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field.
• 4–8 years of hands‑on information security experience, preferably in government or regulated sectors.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and lead security initiatives.

Required skills

• TCP/IP, Active Directory, Windows and Linux hardening.
• Cloud security (Azure, AWS).
• SIEM, EDR, vulnerability management and DLP platforms.
• Firewalls, IDS/IPS, WAF, email/web gateways, PAM.
• ISO 27001, NIST 800‑53, NESA/SIA, Dubai ISR, PDPL, NIST CSF.
