Data Center Operations and Sales Manager

About the role

A commercially minded Data Center Operations and Sales Manager is sought to run data center facilities reliably, securely and efficiently while growing revenue through new customers and existing clients. The role blends operational leadership with sales and business development, covering service performance, facility availability, customer satisfaction, budgets and compliance, and selling colocation, hosting, managed services and related solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operations, keeping the facility available, secure and continuous, and monitor power systems, UPS, generators, cooling, fire detection, physical security and building management systems
• Manage preventive and corrective maintenance, testing, emergency response, operating procedures, incident records, change controls and disaster recovery
• Lead incident investigations, coordinate with facilities, network, IT, security and external providers, and plan capacity for power, cooling, rack space and connectivity
• Manage operational budgets, vendor contracts, spare parts and cost control, and report availability, incidents, capacity and service levels
• Develop sales plans to hit revenue, margin and acquisition targets, and build relationships with enterprise customers, government bodies, telecom operators, cloud providers, system integrators and channel partners
• Identify prospects for colocation, rack space, power, connectivity, cloud, hosting and managed services, and coordinate technical and commercial proposals
• Lead pricing, negotiations, contract reviews and commercial presentations, manage the sales pipeline and forecasts, and work with marketing and technical teams
• Act as a senior escalation point for customers, coach and develop the operations and sales team, and coordinate operational handovers for new customers
