Data Engineer – 12‑month Contract in Abu Dhabi

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Data Engineer to join our growing data and analytics team in Abu Dhabi. The role focuses on designing, building and optimizing scalable, secure data platforms that enable advanced analytics, business intelligence and machine learning.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain scalable data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes for large‑scale datasets.
• Build and optimise data processing frameworks using Spark, Delta Lake, Kafka and other big‑data technologies.
• Create and manage data models, schemas, data lakes, lakehouses and data warehouses to support reporting and analytics.
• Implement data quality, validation, monitoring and observability to ensure reliable data.
• Develop real‑time and batch processing solutions with streaming and distributed systems.
• Ensure compliance with security, privacy and regulatory requirements for sensitive data.
• Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, architects and business stakeholders to deliver high‑value data products.
• Maintain and enhance distributed data platforms for scalability, availability and performance.
• Contribute to data governance, master data management, metadata management and data catalog initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience designing, building and operating enterprise‑scale data platforms and pipelines.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills.
