Data Engineer

About the role

Rakbank is modernising how data fuels decision‑making across the organisation. The Data Engineer will join the Data & Analytics team to design, build and maintain scalable data solutions on the Databricks Lakehouse platform.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, deploy and maintain scalable data pipelines on Databricks Lakehouse.
• Develop and optimise data ingestion, transformation and enrichment for batch, streaming and near‑real‑time workloads.
• Build and maintain curated datasets and data models for BI, analytics, regulatory reporting and AI use cases.
• Implement data quality controls, monitoring, reconciliations and automated testing frameworks.
• Support migration of legacy data solutions to modern cloud‑based platforms and troubleshoot production issues.

Required profile

• 3‑7 years of experience in data engineering, analytics engineering or software engineering.
• Strong hands‑on experience with SQL, Python, PySpark and Spark SQL.
• Experience with Databricks, Delta Lake, Databricks Workflows and Databricks SQL.
• Knowledge of Azure Data Factory, dbt, CDC frameworks and streaming technologies such as Kafka/Confluent.
• Understanding of dimensional modelling, medallion architecture, data quality frameworks and data governance.
