Data Scientist - AI/ML Solutions

About the role

Rak Bank is looking for a Data Scientist who will lead the development of AI/ML solutions that support data-driven decisions in customer engagement, marketing, retention, risk and product areas. The role calls for strong analytical expertise, hands-on experience with open-source technologies, and the ability to build interactive applications and deploy models in batch and real-time settings.

Key responsibilities

• Translate business problems into analytical use cases with defined outcomes and develop, implement and test the most suitable algorithms.
• Work with Business Analysts on requirements and with Data Engineers to build data pipelines and automate production of complex ML models.
• Deliver end-to-end AI/ML models from development to deployment, with stakeholder communication and guidance on efficient use of the models.
• Ensure high coding standards, design standards for reproducibility, and maintain peer review and transparency.
• Drive innovation by improving and designing new solutions and raising awareness of analytics within the bank.
• Collaborate with business units to identify and streamline AI/ML use cases.
• Support ad-hoc requests such as MIS development, SAS data modelling and reporting with analytical tools.

Required profile

• 9+ years of overall experience in analytics, data science or a similar function.
• 3-4 years of experience in banking analytics.
• End-to-end ML model deployment experience.
• Expert-level proficiency and excellent knowledge of banking functions (a major plus).
• Good written and oral communication and documentation skills with stakeholders.

Required skills

• Python and SQL (required)
• Machine learning, deep learning, time-series, optimization and customer analytics
• Deployment experience across databases, servers, cloud environments (AWS, Azure), APIs, ODBC and web apps
• Knowledge of retail banking products
