Data Visualization and Information Design Specialist

About the role

The Data Visualization & Information Design Specialist will turn complex statistical and administrative data into clear, engaging digital experiences for the Data.Dubai platform. Working closely with data engineers, statisticians, product owners and UX designers, you will craft visual narratives that make official Dubai data easy to explore and understand.

Key responsibilities

• Design customer‑centric data experiences using charts, maps, infographics and interactive dashboards.
• Develop reusable visualization components and ensure consistency across the platform.
• Create real‑time and near‑real‑time visualizations, including heatmaps, population pyramids and choropleth maps.
• Define information architecture, content hierarchy and visual storytelling flow for digital products.
• Collaborate with product managers, statisticians and data engineers to integrate APIs and datasets.
• Conduct usability reviews, apply WCAG accessibility standards and optimise experiences for desktop, tablet and mobile.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Design, Graphic Design, Interaction Design, UX, Computer Science, GIS or a related field (Master’s a plus).
• 5–8 years of experience in data visualization, information design, UX or digital analytics, preferably in government or smart‑city projects.
• Proven ability to design customer‑facing dashboards and interactive experiences for both technical and non‑technical audiences.
• Experience working in agile, multidisciplinary teams.
