About the role

The Dean will provide strategic leadership for the e‑School of Health and Environmental Studies, overseeing program design, development, delivery and assessment. This senior position drives academic excellence, research culture, and community engagement while aligning with the university’s strategic plan.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and expand the school’s program portfolio to meet market needs and university strategy.
• Provide creative and innovative leadership to ensure continuous growth.
• Prepare and manage the school’s annual budget.
• Chair the school’s council and oversee policy review and implementation.
• Develop and sustain links with industry, government, professional bodies and the wider community.
• Initiate and coordinate new affiliations and partnerships.
• Foster a learner‑centric environment through collaboration with university stakeholders.
• Promote excellence in teaching, research, administration and community service.
• Manage faculty recruitment, development, workload distribution, performance assessment and retention.
• Lead local and international accreditation efforts for all programmes.
• Supervise academic advising and monitor learner performance.

Required profile

• Proven academic leadership experience, preferably at senior school or faculty level.
• Demonstrated success in accreditation, partnership development and strategic planning.
• Strong budget management and policy formulation skills.
• Experience in faculty recruitment, development and performance management.
• Ability to engage with industry, government and community stakeholders.
