Demi Chef de Partie

About the role

The Demi Chef de Partie supports the culinary team at Le Méridien Fujairah by preparing and cooking a variety of dishes to the hotel’s high standards. This full‑time, onsite position involves hands‑on food preparation, equipment operation, and maintaining a clean, safe kitchen environment.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare ingredients: portion, chop, wash, peel, weigh, measure and store food items.
• Cook dishes according to recipes, quality and presentation standards.
• Operate kitchen equipment such as ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves and fryers.
• Prepare cold foods and assemble plates for service.
• Test and monitor food for proper doneness and quality.
• Set‑up and break down work stations, serve food in correct portions.
• Wash and disinfect kitchen areas, tools, knives and equipment.
• Check and maintain correct temperatures of appliances and food.
• Follow all safety, security and company policies, reporting any hazards.

Required profile

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• Minimum 1 year of relevant kitchen experience.
• Ability to stand, walk or sit for extended periods and lift objects up to 25 lb.
• No supervisory experience required.
• Willingness to adhere to uniform standards and maintain confidentiality.

Required skills

• Operating kitchen equipment (ovens, grills, fryers, etc.).
• Food preparation and cooking techniques.
• Food safety and hygiene compliance.
