Demi Chef de Partie

About the role

A Demi Chef de Partie position is open at a St. Regis property in Abu Dhabi (Saadiyat Island). The role is full time and non-management, focused on preparing meals and dishes to the brand's quality and presentation standards.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and cook food according to recipes, quality standards, presentation standards and the food preparation checklist, including cold foods.
• Regulate oven, broiler, grill and roaster temperatures, and pull food from freezer storage to thaw in the refrigerator.
• Ensure proper portion, arrangement and garnish, and monitor the quality and quantity of food prepared.
• Maintain food logs and inform the Chef of excess food items for daily specials.
• Tell Food & Beverage service staff about menu specials and out-of-stock items, and anticipate guests' service needs.
• Assist management with hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counselling, disciplining and motivating staff, and act as a role model.
• Follow company, safety and security policies, report accidents and unsafe conditions, complete safety training and certifications, and keep proprietary information confidential.
• Keep uniform and personal appearance clean and professional, and perform other reasonable duties requested by supervisors.

Required profile

• Preferred: a technical, trade or vocational school degree.
• Preferred: at least 3 years of related work experience.
• No supervisory experience required.
• Physical ability to stand, sit or walk for long periods, reach overhead and below the knees, and lift up to 25 pounds without assistance.
