Deputy Chief Flight Instructor

About the role

flydubai is seeking a Deputy Chief Flight Instructor to support the Core Flying Phase of its Multi Pilot License (MPL) programme. The role ensures that all flight training activities comply with GCAA regulations, flydubai Academy procedures, and safety standards while delivering high‑quality instruction to cadets.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with GCAA regulations, flydubai procedures, and safety requirements across all flight training activities.
• Oversee and monitor flight training delivered by contracted providers, guaranteeing adherence to approved standards.
• Manage Service Level Agreements (SLAs) with training providers and ensure expectations are met.
• Standardise and assure quality of flight instruction across all training phases.
• Conduct Instrument Rating Instructor (IRI) training for Synthetic Flight Instructors (SFIs) supporting Basic Phase MPL training in FTD/FNPT devices.
• Monitor cadet performance, training progress, and competency development, identifying gaps and recommending improvements.
• Support development, implementation, and continuous improvement of training programmes and syllabi.
• Verify instructor qualifications, authorisations, competency, and currency to maintain regulatory compliance.
• Ensure compliance with flight‑time, duty‑time, and fatigue‑management requirements.
• Report training performance, compliance matters, and operational issues, and support corrective actions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree (minimum 3 years of study).
• Fluent in English.
• GCAA CPL licence holder with SEP rating and at least 2,000 flight hours.
• 7–9 years of relevant experience.
• Commercial Pilot Licence (CPL) with Single‑Engine, Multi‑Engine, and Instrument Rating.
• Flight Instructor Rating (FIR), Class Rating Instructor (CRI), Multi‑Crew Pilot Licence Instructor (MPLI) and MPL Instructor (MPLII) qualifications.
