Design Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a motivated Design Engineer to join BEEAH’s Recycling team. The role focuses on creating detailed designs and drawings for waste‑treatment facilities covering municipal, healthcare, industrial hazardous and fallen‑stock streams.

Key responsibilities

• Gather and analyse business requirements to identify design opportunities and risks.
• Develop detailed layouts, cross‑sectional drawings and process schematics for various waste‑treatment plants.
• Collaborate with civil, mechanical and electrical engineers to ensure integrated, constructible designs.
• Prepare accurate Bills of Quantities for civil, electromechanical and infrastructure items.
• Design systems for Material Recovery Facilities, composting, Refuse‑Derived Fuel, incineration, autoclaves, stabilization methods and engineered landfills.
• Ensure all designs comply with environmental, health and safety regulations and promote sustainable solutions.
• Produce design reports, specifications and support documentation for construction and commissioning phases.
• Coordinate with project managers, facility operators and clients during design reviews and technical presentations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in civil, environmental, mechanical engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• Additional qualifications in business administration, data science, marketing, design or related fields are acceptable.
• Relevant certifications or coursework in waste‑management technologies.
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to translate requirements into practical designs.
