Design Engineer

About the role

As the Design Engineer operating within our Global design engineering team, you will be responsible for product design with a specific focus on the Middle East region. You will collaborate with diverse teams to support ambitious growth plans and help maintain Tate's industry leadership.

Key responsibilities

• Support the global engineering strategy for Tate products, aligning with market position and tailored design solutions for cloud‑based environments.
• Provide engineering and design expertise, proposing creative solutions and fostering innovation.
• Collaborate with customers to understand design requirements and work cross‑functionally with commercial, technical, project management, engineering and manufacturing teams to integrate designs from concept to full‑scale production.
• Support integration of innovative technologies and sustainable engineering practices into product offerings.
• Complete conceptualization and visualization of design projects, creating presentations and prototypes using cutting‑edge tools.
• Develop and implement standardized engineering practices to ensure consistency and quality across regions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Design, Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 4 years of experience in a design/engineering role, preferably within data centre, construction, pharmaceuticals, semiconductor, power generation or oil & gas environments.
• Strong attention to detail, planning skills and a track record of driving design innovation.
• Excellent English communication skills and ability to work with global customers and colleagues.

Required skills

• Proficiency with 3D CAD software such as Onshape (preferred), SolidWorks, Inventor and Creo.
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes, materials and quality control protocols, with DFMA considerations.
• Experience designing integrated modular or skid systems (advantageous).
• Understanding of cloud‑based environments and their impact on design requirements (preferred).
