Design Engineer (MEP)

About the role

Al Manar Technical Contracting is seeking a full‑time Design Engineer (MEP) to work on‑site in Abu Dhabi. You will be responsible for creating and developing mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems for residential, commercial and industrial projects while ensuring compliance with local regulations and company standards.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, review and modify design drawings and specifications using CAD tools.
• Perform technical calculations and integrate mechanical, electrical and plumbing services into cohesive project designs.
• Coordinate with project managers, site teams, consultants and clients throughout the design, installation and commissioning phases.
• Participate in design reviews, resolve technical issues and provide on‑site support during construction.
• Ensure all designs adhere to UAE local codes (Taqa, ADCD, ADM) and relevant international standards.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical or related engineering discipline; MEP specialization is a plus.
• Proven experience in MEP design for commercial projects within the UAE or Abu Dhabi region.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, water supply, drainage, power distribution, lighting, fire alarm and low‑current systems.
• Familiarity with local standards such as Taqa, ADCD and ADM.
• Effective communication and teamwork abilities, with willingness to work on‑site as needed.
