Design & Estimation Engineer – Fire Fighting Systems

About the role

The Design & Estimation Engineer will create fire‑fighting system designs and produce accurate cost estimates in line with NFPA standards and the UAE Fire & Life Safety Code. The role supports tender preparation, technical submissions and coordination across commercial, residential and industrial projects.

Key responsibilities

• Design fire‑fighting systems including sprinklers, hydrants, hose reels, pump rooms, FM‑200, CO₂ and foam systems according to NFPA and UAE Civil Defence requirements.
• Prepare detailed AutoCAD drawings, coordination layouts, hydraulic calculations and all required technical documentation.
• Review project specifications and ensure integration with MEP, architectural and structural services.
• Conduct site assessments to validate design feasibility.
• Prepare BOQs, quantity take‑offs and accurate cost estimates for tenders.
• Evaluate supplier quotations, ensure technical compliance and recommend suitable materials.
• Support sales and project teams with technical clarifications, value engineering and tender submissions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum 3 years of UAE experience in fire‑fighting system design and estimation.
• Strong knowledge of NFPA standards and the UAE Fire & Life Safety Code.
• Experience with sprinklers, hydrants, fire pumps and suppression systems (FM‑200, CO₂, foam).

Required skills

• Proficiency in AutoCAD.
• Knowledge of hydraulic calculation tools.
• Understanding of NFPA standards.
• Familiarity with the UAE Fire & Life Safety Code.
