DevOps Engineer

About the role

NodeShift, a fast-growing AI infrastructure startup based in Abu Dhabi with a second office in Doha, designs and operates sovereign cloud and generative AI platforms for governments, banks and national enterprises. It is looking for a DevOps Engineer who acts as the bridge between product, engineering and customers, helping them design, deploy and optimise technical solutions. This is a hands-on, cross-functional role requiring a deep understanding of modern cloud architectures, APIs and integration patterns.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with clients and internal teams to design scalable, secure and high-performance solutions.
• Lead technical discovery sessions and turn business needs into actionable architecture.
• Build proofs-of-concept, demos and technical documentation for customers and partners.
• Work with engineering to ensure successful implementations and product fit.
• Support pre-sales engagements by presenting technical capabilities and addressing customer requirements.
• Troubleshoot integration issues and share best-practice guidance.
• Gather customer feedback and contribute to product roadmap discussions.
• Deliver enablement sessions, workshops and onboarding for partners or enterprise clients.

Required profile

• 3+ years of experience in a DevOps, SRE, Solutions Engineer, Sales Engineer or Cloud Engineer role.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, able to explain complex ideas clearly.
• Ability to work autonomously in fast-moving startup or enterprise environments.

Required skills

• Kubernetes, Docker, REST / GraphQL APIs and CI/CD workflows.
• Scripting or programming in Python, Go, JavaScript or similar.
• Nice to have: OIDC, SAML, OAuth2; networking, VPN (WireGuard, IPSec) or distributed systems; observability tools such as Grafana, Prometheus or ELK; prior work in AI infrastructure, data platforms or enterprise SaaS; open-source contributions or technical writing.
