DevOps + Go Platform Engineer

About the role

A partner company, acting on behalf of the hiring entity, is looking for a DevOps + Go Platform Engineer based in the United Arab Emirates. The role builds and evolves an internal developer platform and CI/CD ecosystem supporting multiple products and environments. It combines infrastructure engineering with Go development to improve deployment reliability, operational efficiency and developer experience, across Kubernetes, on-premise, Windows/Hyper-V and cloud or hybrid setups on AWS, Azure and GCP.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, maintain and optimize scalable CI/CD pipelines with GitLab CI/CD.
• Support and improve infrastructure across on-premise, cloud and hybrid environments.
• Develop, maintain and refactor internal platform tools and services in Go, including a replacement for the existing deployment system.
• Investigate infrastructure environments, find weaknesses and bottlenecks and implement measurable improvements.
• Optimize staging and ephemeral environments for performance, reliability and cost.
• Manage infrastructure as code with Terraform and Ansible.
• Strengthen observability with Grafana, OpenSearch, metrics, monitoring and alerting.
• Take part in operational support and troubleshooting, and collaborate with R&D, QA, SRE and infrastructure teams.
• Work with both modern stacks and legacy systems, including Windows Server and Hyper-V.

Required profile

• 3-5 years of senior-level DevOps or platform engineering experience.
• Hands-on experience deploying, maintaining and troubleshooting on-premise infrastructure, including hardware issues.
• Recent production experience with Go, beyond scripting.
• Strong Linux administration and troubleshooting skills.
• Willingness to work with legacy systems and Windows environments.
• Independent problem-solving, systems thinking and clear, pragmatic communication.

Required skills

• At least one major cloud provider: AWS, Azure or GCP.
• Strong hands-on Kubernetes experience.
• Solid GitLab CI/CD knowledge.
• Terraform and Ansible.
• Observability tools such as Grafana, ELK/OpenSearch, Prometheus or VictoriaMetrics.
• Advantageous: multiple clouds, Helm or Helmfile, VMware, networking fundamentals, internal developer platforms, basic JavaScript or React.
