About the role
De Art is seeking a Digital Art Archivist to organise, document and preserve its growing body of artistic and cultural material. The role focuses on digital archiving, metadata creation, image organisation and long‑term accessibility of cultural content.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and maintain organized digital archives for artworks, artists, exhibitions and related resources.
- Create and maintain consistent metadata for digital assets and establish naming, categorisation and tagging standards.
- Research and verify information about artists, artworks, techniques, collections and exhibitions.
- Organise high‑resolution images, photographs and documents for long‑term access and document copyright and usage conditions.
- Collaborate with editors, researchers, curators and designers to ensure proper documentation of published materials.
- Identify inconsistencies, duplicate records and missing information within collections.
- Establish procedures for version control, backups, file preservation and structured access.
- Develop workflows for adding new materials and recommend archival and metadata standards appropriate for De Art.
Required profile
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Library and Information Science, Archival Studies, Museum Studies, Art History, Cultural Heritage, Information Management, Digital Humanities or related field.
- Strong interest in visual arts, cultural heritage and digital collections.
- Excellent organisational, documentation and attention‑to‑detail skills.
- Ability to research, verify and maintain cultural and artistic information.
- Good English communication and documentation skills.
