Director Corporate Origination and Business Development

About the role

The Director of Corporate Origination and Business Development will drive the acquisition and onboarding of large corporate clients for Mashreq Bank in Dubai. Reporting to senior management, the role supports the bank’s growth strategy by shaping propositions, managing credit processes and fostering strategic partnerships across the corporate banking portfolio.

Key responsibilities

• Prospect, identify and onboard new corporate borrowing relationships with annual revenues between AED 250 million and AED 1 billion.
• Develop and execute proposition strategies, competition analysis and targeted campaigns in collaboration with product, risk and retail banking teams.
• Own the full credit lifecycle – from proposal preparation and approval to documentation, onboarding and ongoing monitoring.
• Maintain and grow a network of business introducers, referral partners and professional contacts within the local market.
• Track deal flow, prepare business reports and ensure compliance with credit, operational and regulatory risk policies.
• Achieve targets for new‑to‑bank revenue, profitability, deposit growth and cross‑selling across the corporate portfolio.

Required profile

• Minimum 8 years of banking experience in business development, credit and relationship management, with at least 2 years in a similar senior role in the UAE.
• University degree in business, finance or a related discipline.
• Strong commercial orientation, independent mindset and ability to work under pressure.
• Proven networking, leadership and team‑player capabilities.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in MS Office.
• Experience with web content management and analytics tools.
• Solid credit analytical skills and knowledge of corporate banking products.
