Director, Loan Syndication, Sales & Distribution

About the role

The Director, Loan Syndication, Sales & Distribution will lead the strategy and execution of corporate trade distribution across Mashreq's wholesale banking network. Reporting to the Corporate & Investment Banking Group, the role focuses on growing the Financial Institutions (FI) trade sales business and expanding the investor base for bespoke Shorouq transactions.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement a trade distribution strategy in collaboration with GTB teams and wholesale digital/advanced analytics.
• Grow FI Trade Sales volume across multiple origination locations and increase origination by FI coverage teams.
• Expand the investor network to include European and Islamic banks, multilateral institutions, and insurance companies.
• Manage large investor relationships with entities such as Munich Re, Swiss Re, BII, IFC, and the African Development Bank.
• Maintain a selldown tracker, monitor pipeline and sold positions, and provide regular updates to stakeholders.
• Coordinate with the ERM team on ECL/RWA treatment for credit risk mitigants.

Required profile

• 12‑14 years of experience in investment banking, preferably with a regional or global institution.
• Strong multi‑product expertise, especially in trade finance and loan syndication.
• Proven track record in managing investor relationships and developing new distribution channels.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with a collaborative team mindset.
• Ability to multitask in a fast‑paced environment.
