Director of Assets and Warehouses Department

About the role

A leading UAE Government Ministry is seeking an experienced Director to lead the strategic and operational management of its assets, inventory, and warehouse operations. The role involves developing departmental strategies, ensuring compliance with regulations, and optimizing performance.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and oversee the Assets and Warehouses Department, managing assets, inventory, and warehouse operations.
• Develop and implement strategic and operational plans, policies, procedures, and performance indicators.
• Manage fixed‑asset lifecycle activities, including registration, tracking, verification, and electronic asset management systems.
• Conduct annual electronic inventory exercises and emergency inventory activities.
• Oversee warehouse operations, stock control, storage practices, and asset preservation.
• Develop warehouse management policies, including stock level controls and monitoring procedures.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, security, and environmental requirements.
• Establish quality standards, methodologies, and performance measurement systems.
• Manage departmental teams, promote continuous improvement and capability development.
• Prepare reports, recommendations, and improvement plans to enhance asset utilization and cost efficiency.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree with 10+ years experience, or Master’s with 7+ years, or PhD with 4+ years in business administration, accounting, financial management or related field.
• Extensive experience in asset management, fixed‑asset control, warehouse or inventory management.
• Proven leadership of large‑scale asset portfolios and warehouse operations.
• Previous experience within a UAE Government entity or ministry is highly preferred.
• Professional certifications such as CMA, CPA, CFA, ACCA, CTP, or relevant UAE VAT or asset‑management qualifications are a plus.
