Director of Housekeeping (Luxury Hotel)

About the role

InterContinental Abu Dhabi seeks an experienced Director of Housekeeping to lead its housekeeping team and uphold the highest standards of cleanliness, presentation, comfort, and service across the property.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the overall housekeeping operation, covering guest rooms, public areas, laundry and related zones.
• Maintain consistently high standards of cleanliness, presentation and maintenance in line with InterContinental brand expectations.
• Inspire, develop and engage a large, multicultural housekeeping team.
• Collaborate with Front Office, Engineering and other departments to ensure smooth daily hotel operations.
• Manage departmental budgets, payroll, productivity, inventory and operating expenses while preserving service excellence.
• Oversee room inspections, preventative maintenance coordination and quality‑assurance standards.
• Drive continuous improvement through guest feedback, quality audits and performance analysis.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, hygiene and sustainability requirements.
• Manage suppliers, linen, uniforms, amenities and housekeeping equipment effectively.
• Support recruitment, training, performance management and succession planning within the department.

Required profile

• Previous senior housekeeping leadership experience, preferably as Director of Housekeeping or Executive Housekeeper in a luxury or five‑star hotel.
• Strong knowledge of luxury housekeeping operations, quality standards and guest expectations.
• Proven ability to lead and develop a large, multicultural team.
• Solid financial and commercial awareness, including budgeting, forecasting, productivity and cost management.
