Director of Legal Engineering

About the role

Lead the establishment of Legora's Legal Engineering function for the Middle East from Dubai, shaping a commercial and delivery engine that aligns with global standards while addressing regional legal nuances.

Key responsibilities

• Stand up the Legal Engineering function, defining operating rhythm, quality bar, capacity and staffing model.
• Hire and develop exceptional Legal Engineers, including Arabic‑capable coverage, and build a manager layer of Team Leads.
• Partner with regional commercial leadership on priority accounts, pilots, rollouts and escalations, linking activity to conversion, adoption and revenue.
• Act as lead legal architect on selected enterprise engagements, translating complex legal problems into Legora workflows and reusable playbooks.
• Represent the region inside Legora, turning client patterns and local requirements into product input and thought leadership.

Required profile

• Extensive experience with sophisticated legal work in the Gulf and strong credibility with senior legal buyers.
• Proven track record of building teams, functions or operating models from the ground up.
• Legal qualification (jurisdiction less important than credibility).
• Ability to manage and develop people, including managers or team leads.

Required skills

• Deep understanding of Gulf legal landscape, including federal law, emirate‑level systems and free‑zone regulations (DIFC, ADGM).
• Arabic language capability for client coverage.
• Knowledge of data protection and local hosting requirements.
• Experience translating legal problems into AI‑driven workflows.
