Director of Tax

About the role

The Director of Tax at TensorWave is a senior leadership position responsible for shaping and overseeing the company’s global tax strategy. Reporting to the CFO, this role ensures alignment of all tax functions with broader financial objectives while serving as the primary point of contact for internal and external tax experts.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate Income, Sales & Use, Property, Real Estate, and R&D tax credit SMEs to ensure unified strategy and communication.
• Develop and execute a comprehensive tax strategy focused on growth, risk mitigation, and effective tax rate optimization.
• Advise the CFO and executive team on tax implications of M&A, international expansion, and capital structure changes.
• Partner with legal and finance teams to structure complex transactions for tax efficiency.
• Oversee real‑estate tax liabilities, assessments, and appeals across the property portfolio.
• Identify and manage R&D tax credits and other incentives, handling documentation and filings.
• Establish and maintain a robust tax governance framework compliant with SOX, GAAP, and local statutes.
• Lead tax audit defense, coordinating information flow between the company, auditors, and tax authorities.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives leveraging technology and automation.

Required profile

• Extensive experience leading corporate tax functions, preferably at a senior or director level.
• Proven ability to advise C‑suite executives on tax aspects of major corporate initiatives.
• Strong background in structuring transactions, real‑estate tax management, and incentive optimization.
• Deep knowledge of tax governance, compliance standards (SOX, GAAP) and audit processes.
• Excellent cross‑functional leadership and communication skills.
