Director, People & Culture

About the role

The Director, People & Culture will develop and implement People & Culture strategies that support the hotel’s business objectives, operational priorities and financial performance. Working closely with the General Manager and executive leadership team, the role integrates people priorities into business planning and decision‑making.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute HR strategies aligned with the hotel’s goals and financial targets.
• Partner with the General Manager and senior leaders to embed people priorities in business plans.
• Prepare and manage the annual HR budget and workforce plan, aligning staffing levels with forecasts.
• Monitor payroll, benefits, recruitment and learning expenditures, ensuring cost control and budget accountability.
• Analyse monthly people costs, explain variances and recommend corrective actions.
• Lead employee relations, resolve conflicts fairly and ensure compliance with UAE labour legislation.
• Champion diversity, equity and inclusion across all people practices.
• Oversee performance management, succession planning and compensation benchmarking.

Required profile

• Minimum 6 years experience in a People & Culture role with leadership responsibility.
• Previous experience within the hospitality industry.
• Degree or diploma in a related field; CPHR designation or working towards it is an asset.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Proactive attitude, high attention to detail in a fast‑paced environment.
• Excellent organisational and leadership capabilities.
• Highly responsible, reliable and able to work cohesively with teams.
