Director - Physical Education (Academic Year 2026/2027)

About the role

Aldar Education is recruiting a Director of Physical Education for Noya British School in Abu Dhabi, joining in Academic Year 2026/2027. Noya British School is the newest flagship school of the Aldar Schools brand, located on Yas Island in a community close to amenities and an international environment.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement departmental policies and practices that reflect the school's vision, aims and commitment to high standards of teaching and learning.
• Establish, monitor and evaluate short, medium and long-term departmental development plans, using data to identify underachieving students and act on them.
• Analyse school data and inspection evidence to inform policies, expectations, targets and teaching methods.
• Ensure schemes of work are developed, in place and regularly reviewed for all year groups, with provision for SEN, G&T and EAL students, and ensure curriculum continuity and progression.
• Set up policies for assessment, recording and reporting of achievement, and set expectations for staff on standards, teaching quality and behaviour.
• Evaluate the quality of teaching and learning and take action to improve it.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in the related subject with a PGCE or other teacher qualification.
• Minimum of 6 years teaching the English National Curriculum.
• Previous experience working with students whose English is not their first language.
• Clean enhanced Disclosure and Barring Services check or police check; offers are subject to satisfactory references and police clearance.
