Director Talent Analytics

About the role

The Director of Talent Analytics will lead Canonical’s Talent Science team to ensure an objective, scientifically‑rigorous hiring process worldwide. Reporting to the Global Head of Talent Science, you will shape data‑driven decision‑making and embed behavioural science into selection methods.

Key responsibilities

• Lead a team to deliver strategic objectives, focusing on product design and roadmap implementation for talent analytics.
• Connect performance outcomes to selection methods, ensuring the identification of exceptional talent.
• Design professional processes and frameworks that enable efficient delivery of the team’s agenda.
• Coach and mentor team members, developing analytical capabilities and thought leadership.
• Act as a credible adviser and inspire the team in the Head’s absence.
• Collaborate with company leaders to communicate Canonical’s talent vision.

Required profile

• Exceptional academic record with an undergraduate degree in a people‑focused discipline.
• 7+ years of experience in a talent function, deep knowledge of recruitment, selection and analytics.
• Proven ability to analyse data using SQL or Python, R, SPSS, with a willingness to learn.
• Experience with BI tools, specifically Superset.
• Strong leadership, project‑management and coaching skills.
• Excellent written and spoken English with senior‑level presentation ability.
• Willingness to travel internationally 2‑4 times per year.
