Director Transformation

About the role

The Director Transformation will lead the regional operational transformation agenda for Hapag-Lloyd in the United Arab Emirates. Reporting to the Senior Director Operations, the role focuses on driving operational excellence, standardising processes and embedding technology‑driven solutions such as AI, RPA and automation.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute a regional transformation roadmap aligned with global strategy.
• Lead technology initiatives that leverage AI, RPA, automation and predictive analytics to streamline workflows.
• Identify and implement process standardisation and optimisation opportunities.
• Collaborate with commercial, operations, IT and HQ teams to ensure seamless program delivery.
• Anticipate operational challenges and design risk‑mitigation initiatives.
• Define and monitor KPIs to track performance and continuous improvement.
• Champion change management and ensure adoption of new tools and ways of working.
• Build, mentor and retain a high‑performing, tech‑savvy team.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading large‑scale operational transformation programmes, preferably in shipping or logistics.
• Strong expertise in process optimisation, operational efficiency and change management.
• Demonstrated ability to work cross‑functionally and influence senior stakeholders.
• Servant‑leadership mindset with a track record of developing high‑performing teams.
