Dispatcher

About the role

The Dispatcher coordinates daily truck movements to ensure safe and timely delivery of petroleum products. Working on a 12‑hour shift, the role involves planning trips, liaising with drivers, suppliers, clients and terminal operators, and overseeing fleet maintenance and compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and assign daily delivery trips, allocating trucks and drivers according to schedule.
• Communicate with drivers before, during and after trips to monitor progress and resolve delays.
• Arrange loading appointments with suppliers and discharge schedules with clients.
• Track truck movements, calculate and process driver trip allowances accurately.
• Coordinate loading and unloading operations at the terminal, scheduling slot allocations.
• Schedule truck repairs and preventive maintenance with the mechanic to minimise downtime.
• Manage vehicle registration renewals, permits and inspections with the RTA.
• Monitor traffic fines, report incidents and ensure corrective actions.
• Support inventory reconciliation, verify daily stock movements and maintain delivery records.
• Promote and follow HSE policies, participate in safety briefings and report incidents.

Required profile

• Experience in logistics, transport or dispatch operations.
• Familiarity with petroleum product handling and terminal procedures.
• Ability to work 12‑hour shifts and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Strong communication skills for coordination with drivers, suppliers and clients.
