Document Controller - Construction Projects

About the role

A main contracting company is looking for a detail-oriented and organized Document Controller with 1-2 years of UAE experience. The role covers building construction and high-rise tower projects, and Aconex proficiency is highly preferred. The controller keeps project documents under control throughout the construction lifecycle and ensures they are distributed to stakeholders on time.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and maintain all project documents, records and correspondence.
• Handle receipt, registration, distribution, tracking and filing of incoming and outgoing documents.
• Maintain document registers, logs, transmittals and revision records.
• Manage technical documents, drawings, method statements, material submittals, RFIs and other project correspondence.
• Ensure documents are numbered, titled, classified and stored correctly.
• Coordinate with project managers, site engineers, consultants and subcontractors on document submissions and approvals.
• Monitor submission and approval status and follow up on pending documents.
• Make sure the latest approved drawings and documents are available to site teams.
• Assist in compiling and organizing documentation for final handover.

Required profile

• Minimum 1-2 years of UAE experience as a Document Controller in a main contracting company.
• Experience in building construction and high-rise tower projects in the UAE.
• Basic understanding of construction drawings, technical submittals, RFIs and project documentation.
• Experience managing project documentation from commencement to final handover is preferred.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, good communication and coordination skills.

Required skills

• Good knowledge of MS Office, especially Excel, Word and Outlook.
• Aconex is highly preferred.
