Draughtsman – Structural & Bridge Projects

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Draughtsman to join our Al Ain team, supporting bridge, steel structure and marine engineering projects. You will produce high‑quality technical drawings and documentation, working closely with engineers, project managers and site teams to ensure compliance with design specifications and local regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Develop detailed design, shop and as‑built drawings for structural components, including reinforcement detailing and bar‑bending schedules.
• Create cross‑sections, profiles, specification sheets and 2D/3D construction staging and temporary works drawings (scaffolding, formwork, falsework).
• Ensure all drawings adhere to UAE/GCC building codes, safety standards and industry best practices.
• Conduct internal quality checks, manage drawing submissions, transmittals, revision logs and document control processes.
• Respond to consultant and authority comments, revise drawings promptly, and provide technical input during coordination meetings.

Required profile

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Drafting Technology, Architecture or related field.
• Minimum 10 years of structural drafting experience, with at least 5 years on bridge or heavy civil projects.
• At least 3 years designing temporary works and preparing related documentation.
• Strong understanding of AASHTO, British Standards, Eurocode and local UAE/GCC codes.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D and MicroStation.
• Experience with document‑control platforms such as Aconex or ProjectWise.
• Proficient use of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
