Dredging Works Manager

About the role

We are seeking a Dredging Works Manager to lead and oversee all dredging activities for capital, maintenance, reclamation, beach nourishment, breakwater and port development projects. The role reports to senior management and works closely with clients, consultants and regulatory bodies.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage all dredging operations across various project types.
• Develop and implement project execution plans, work schedules and allocate resources.
• Coordinate deployment of dredgers, support vessels, floating equipment and plant.
• Monitor daily production, progress and performance to meet targets.
• Ensure compliance with specifications, contracts, quality standards and HSE regulations.
• Manage budgets, cost control, forecasting and productivity improvement.
• Supervise and mentor engineers, superintendents, surveyors and marine supervisors.
• Liaise with clients, consultants, subcontractors and authorities for smooth execution.
• Review hydrographic surveys, progress reports and production data to optimise operations.
• Identify risks and implement mitigation measures, and report progress to senior management.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Marine or Coastal Engineering or related field (Master’s degree advantageous).
• Strong leadership, analytical and decision‑making abilities.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Proven experience in managing large‑scale marine construction or dredging projects.

Required skills

• Hydrographic survey interpretation.
• Project planning, scheduling and cost control.
• Knowledge of international HSE and environmental standards for marine projects.
