Drilling Specialist (TRS) - Biogenic Shallow Gas

About the role

ADNOC Drilling is looking for a Specialist, Drilling (TRS) in Abu Dhabi, on an external contract. The role sets and manages the lump-sum turnkey campaign scope of work for the Biogenic Shallow Gas project, including unconventional drilling and testing activities such as UBD, MLT and multi-stage fracturing, while managing project cost control and rig schedule.

Key responsibilities

• Report and update the Drilling and well operations activities related to the Biogenic Shallow Gas project so they conform to the plan and programme.
• Lead and direct the Drilling Integrated Project Management teams of the assigned service companies to run the wells in line with the plans.
• Approve drilling programmes, well plans from the LSTK/IPM teams and the associated AFEs for the wells.
• Define full-field development plans and exploration requirements with Petroleum, Reservoir and Petrophysics engineers.
• Advise the Exploration Function on planning, well prognosis and technical requirements.
• Plan, supervise and coordinate activities in the assigned area, train staff and contribute to budgets, performance objectives and MIS reports.
• Comply with HSE policies, legislation and the ADNOC Code of Practices, and work with exploration, upstream divisions, JVs, OPCOs, drilling service providers and rig equipment manufacturers.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Petroleum or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• At least 8 years of related experience in drilling, workover engineering and operations.
• Experience with OPCOs preferred, preferably in the UAE, and a mix of rig and office work.
• Proven track record of leading drilling teams, operations or engineering.

Required skills

• Experience with drilling new technologies (UBD, MPD, CTD, ERD).
• Business planning for wells and drilling operations.
• Proficiency in drilling software; Landmark package preferred.
