Duty Technician – Hotel Maintenance

About the role

We are looking for a proactive Duty Technician to join the maintenance team at Sofitel Dubai The Palm, a 5‑star beachfront resort. The role involves responding quickly to guest requests and maintaining the hotel’s facilities to the highest standards.

Key responsibilities

• Respond promptly to guest calls and departmental work orders, prioritising occupied rooms and villas.
• Carry out first‑line repairs across electrical, plumbing, HVAC, minor carpentry, locks and general maintenance.
• Perform scheduled plant‑room rounds, record readings for chillers, AHUs/FCUs, boilers, pumps, water tanks, pools and generators.
• Monitor the BMS and fire alarm panel, act on alarms and escalate to the Duty Engineer as needed.
• Participate in emergency response teams for fire, flooding, power failure, lift entrapment and gas leaks.

Required profile

• Diploma or technical certificate in electrical, mechanical or HVAC engineering, or equivalent trade qualification.
• Minimum 3 years of multi‑skilled maintenance experience, preferably in a 5‑star hotel or resort.
• Good spoken and written English and computer literacy for maintenance systems.

Required skills

• Electrical systems (LV) knowledge.
• Plumbing and HVAC systems expertise.
• Building Management Systems (BMS) operation.
• Fire safety systems familiarity.
• Use of maintenance software and shift logs.
