E-Learning Officer – LMS Administration & Support

About the role

The American University in the Emirates is looking for a motivated, technology‑oriented E‑Learning Officer to support the planning, implementation, administration and continuous improvement of its e‑learning environment. The role works closely with faculty, students, academic departments and the IT team to ensure effective use of the Learning Management System and related educational technologies.

Key responsibilities

• Administer, maintain and support the university’s Learning Management System (LMS) and associated platforms.
• Provide technical support and guidance to faculty, students and staff on LMS functionality and e‑learning tools.
• Assist faculty in developing, uploading and managing online and blended course content.
• Conduct training workshops and orientation sessions on LMS usage and instructional technologies.
• Create user manuals, guides and instructional materials to promote effective system use.
• Monitor LMS performance and coordinate with the IT department to resolve technical issues.
• Support the implementation of innovative teaching and learning technologies across the university.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Educational Technology, Instructional Design, Information Technology, Computer Science, Education or a related field.
• 2–5 years of experience in e‑learning, instructional technology, LMS administration or educational technology support, preferably in higher education.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of Learning Management Systems (Moodle, Blackboard, Canvas or similar).
• Experience with virtual classroom and digital collaboration tools.
• Technical troubleshooting and user support for e‑learning applications.
• Ability to create user guides, tutorials and training materials.
