Early Career Field Service Engineer Trainee

About the role

Join GE Vernova’s Grid Solutions team for a 12‑month early‑career programme that builds field technical expertise on power‑system projects. You will work alongside experienced engineers to support substation automation, protection relays and cyber‑secure grid solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Assist engineers in preparing signal lists, schematics and bill‑of‑materials for protection and automation projects.
• Support field service tasks for protection relays, panel modifications, IEC61850 mapping and cable scheduling.
• Perform CT/VT adequacy checks, relay‑setting calculations and produce production documentation such as wiring tables and label lists.
• Coordinate and record tests for digital inputs, SCADA signals, IED interlocks and cyber‑security architectures.
• Help install and commission substation automation systems, including fiber‑optic layouts, PC installations and console wiring.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Power, Computer Engineering, Mechatronics, Energy or a related field.
• Fresh graduate or up to 2 years of experience.
• Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Fluent English; Arabic is a plus.
