Early Childhood Psychologist

About the role

The Psychologist will support the psychological, behavioral and socio‑emotional development of children aged 0‑4 across Sharjah Government Nurseries. The role provides assessment, early intervention, teacher coaching and parent counselling to create a holistic support system.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct psychological, developmental and behavioral assessments for children and develop individualized support plans.
• Deliver one‑on‑one or small‑group sessions to promote emotional, social and behavioral development.
• Train and coach teachers on early childhood development, behavior management and inclusive classroom practices.
• Provide counselling, workshops and guidance to parents on positive parenting and child development.
• Identify and address safeguarding concerns in line with UAE regulations.
• Collaborate with speech therapists, inclusion specialists and external agencies in multidisciplinary meetings.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Psychology, Clinical/Child/Developmental Psychology (PhD preferred).
• Minimum 10 years of experience working with young children in clinical, educational or early‑intervention settings.
• Bilingual in Arabic and English (mandatory).
• UAE‑recognized licences or certifications (CDA, MOE, DHA/DOH) preferred.

• Advanced assessment and diagnostic skills for early childhood.
• Strong knowledge of socio‑emotional development and behavior management.
• Excellent communication and counselling abilities with children, teachers and parents.
